Power Types

Political Power
Adolf Hitler's rise to power in Germany began in September 1919 when Hitler joined the political party that was known as the Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (later commonly referred to as the Nazi Party). This political party was formed and developed during the post-World War I era, it was anti-Marxist and was opposed to the democratic post-war government of the Weimar Republic and the Treaty of Versailles. In the mid 1920s, the Nazi party engaged in electoral battles in which Hitler participated as a speaker and organiser, as well as in street battles and violence between the Rotfrontkämpferbund and the Nazi's Sturmabteilung. It was not until the release of his book Mein Kampf (My Struggle) in 1923 that Hitler was introduced to a wider audience.
On the 30th of January 1933 President Paul von Hindenburg appointed Hitler as Chancellor, although Hitler had promised President Hindenburg that he would uphold the constitution, Hitler immediately called for new elections. The Nazi Party gained control and ended the Weimar Republic. Hitler assumed total control of Germany and he suspended all civil liberties and used violence to crush all opposition, then Hitler used the poor economic condition of Germany to gain complete control. He was responsible for the deaths of 40 million people. Unfortunately, many Germans followed an evil and violent leader who took advantage of people at a time when they were poor and hungry, to gain power and cause destruction.
Military Power
According to some historians Adolf Hitler did possess several strengths and characteristic of a good military leader, his knowledge of guns, tanks, ships and their capabilities as weapons of war. He could also instantly recall the effect of the enemy’s latest weapon systems and this benefited Germany. However Hitler's confidence in his military leadership was filled with flaws, his experience during First World War was very limited and he lacked the experience of commanding troops in the field. Hitler constantly sent trrops into combat witn complete disregard of supplies, logistics and food.
I believe that Hitler’s biggest fault as a military leader was his belief that victory on the battlefield could be conquered simply through the power of his own will, he was convinced that if his will could be felt by his soldiers, that on the battlefield they could succeed without question. As well as his approach to decision making was not logical or well thought out, it was the complete opposite. He would reach a decision through "instinct" and once his decision was made he would then gather facts to support his decision, and if anyone dared challenge him they would regret it. Do you still believe that someone so unstable was a capable leader?
As a military leader Adolf Hitler was one of the worst! He placed his own self interest above his country, its people, and the rest of rge world, and millions of people died because of his leadership. Hitler was convinced that he and he alone would be capable of restoring Germany to her rightful place among the other nations throughtout the world. Hitler thought he was a true military genius because of his early success in the war, but as the war lingered on his leadership began to faulter badly.
Economic Power
The First World War Germany was part of the Great Depression, which resulted in the economic and political collapse of the Weimar Republic. Adolf Hitler demonstrated his political skill in taking advantage of the opportunity provided by the depression. He developed his Nazi Party into a mass movement and used a combination of his popular support and promises to change the economy and to restore nationalism in Germany and give them a sense of pride promising the Nazi Party as the answer. This intrigued the people of Germany and they helped boost him to power.
Social Power
He scared some people into following . He was forceful with punishments. He was fierce. He was arrogant. He was intimidating. He was violent and vicious. He was rude, but his promises gave the people of Germany hope and it kept them supporting him.
Physical Power
Hitler's health has long been the subject of debate. It has been said that Hitler had many different health problems such as; irritable bowel syndrome, skin lesions, irregular heartbeat, Parkinson's disease, syphilis, Asperger syndrome and a strongly suggested addiction to methamphetamine. Adolf Hitler was also an anti-smoker and gave any of his close colleges a gold watch if the quit. He was not a physically strong man but it was not something he needed, he had his political power to keep the people of Germany in line and no one dared to work against him.
Sexual Power
Adolf Hitler was not a handsome man and he presented himself in public as a man without a domestic life and dedicated entirely to his political mission. He had a fiancée Mimi Reiter, and later had a mistress, Eva Braun, but he was never married or really interested in making a stable home.
Personally do I think Adolf Hitler was good or evil? And would I ever like the power that Adolf Hitler had?
I personally think that Adolf Hitler was the most evil person in history that I have read about. He was a vile monster that destroyed many innocent people's lives for his own pleasure and sick twisted mind. If I had the power that Adolf Hitler had I would have never created such genocide and any of the despicable acts of violence and cruelty that he forced onto his people. The way he could simply dispose of a race that he hated was disgusting and what was more nauseating is that he did it without remorse or thinking of the welfare of the people he destroyed. I believe that Hitler was a truly mentally unstable man and should have never had so much power and I don't think I would ever want or could handle having so much power, it would be too stressful and I wouldn't know what to do. I wouldn't want to be resposible of a job that is so important. What if I did something wrong? How could I run a country? How could I stand to be in politics when I can't stand them now? I am definetely not cut out to be in politics or an important leader, or have people counting on me.
